Speak Up! Speak Out! empowers middle and high schoolers to propose solutions to societal issues. The program, run by The Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life at the University of Texas, works with area middle and high school civics teachers. Students pick an issue in their community, propose ways to solve that problem, and present their ideas to judges at the annual Civics Fair.
